Struggling with Back Pain? Cannabis Can help

If you’re someone who deals with back pain, you’re not alone. There are a lot of people who deal with this, and there are tons of treatments that people are using. One of them is marijuana, which can be used for back pain, and here, well discussed whether or not marijuana is best for back pain.

What Back Pain Is

Back pain is something that about 1 in every 6 adults deals with.  This is something that’s hard to treat, and even diagnose. That’s because the pain sensations may be from a ligament that’s torn, a disc that’s breaking down, or a nerve that’s pinched and trapped. Some patients also may experience no pain despite having a herniated disc. This is something that makes back pain very hard to diagnose in most cases.

Back pain is usually something that can definitely be hard to really adjust and view in terms of perception of how severe it is.

Some people may look at some of the psychosocial issues to figure out why your back pain is there. Most traditional medicines for back pain include different drugs such as antidepressants, ibuprofen, and other narcotics including opioids as well. This is something that some patients avoid however, since it can be addictive and easy to abuse.

This can be a big problem for some people, and it’s a complex issue. However, some people have found marijuana to be the answer to treating back pain conditions.

THC for Back Pain

The ECS is a major target for a lot of back pain, to the point where you can manipulate the ECS, and from there reduce the presence of back pain. There are also cannabinoids that do get onto this.

THC is definitely a huge part of underpinning the marijuana parts of this. Lots of people will even say that the pain will go away after hitting the bong. Part of this issue relates to the positive feelings that you get, but there are also some grounds for agreement that this can help with back pain.

Some clinical reviews have even looked at different human data in order to find the reduction in opioid uses after you start to use cannabis for treating back pain. However, despite this, there are still a ton of variables, which doesn’t make this super reliable. One study looked at some patients who had back pain and neuropathic pain. It found as well that cannabis can help with this, and it also reduced hospital visits too.

What about CBD

CBD is a bit different, since it’s not psychoactive, and it can bind to other enzymes that do impact your ECS. Endocannabinoid signals that deal with pain actually are the responsibility of CBD. CBD does block these enzymes and blocks the breakdown of this, increasing your anandamide levels, and also inhibiting the pain that neurotransmitters give you.

However, one downside to this, is that there are no human studies which confirm this. Right now, the CB1 and the CB2 receptors are the main parts of your ECS. But there are also parts of the expanded ECS that play a part in this, including TRPV-1, which is one that actually slows down the interactions of pain and inflammation. CBD is a major player of this, and it’s partially why CBD can be used for back pain.

The research is still ongoing with this, so we don’t have all of the answers, but for many, even just getting off of opioids is enough to get people to use cannabis for back pain and trying it right now.

Alzheimer’s and Cannabis

For many, the rise of cannabis is becoming a major part of treating different conditions, and it’s helped with a variety of issues, including treatment of pain, mental health problems, and even helping with insomnia.  There are some conditions that cannabis is used for, but it’s also good to use with Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s, especially in instances of dementia, is basically a term that’s general for memory loss, and other issues with their cognitive reasoning and abilities. People get so bad that it impacts their ability to live.

As it starts to progress, the behaviors do change, and a lot of times, the changes that come from this can be distressing, and hard to deal with due to the disease.

The breakdown of the brain cells usually is what causes these symptoms.  There are some medications, but they do have some bad side effects, and it doesn’t really help the person.

That’s why some people are turning to using cannabinoids, as this is a safer, and much easier way to handle this, especially for patients that are dealing with Alzheimer’s and the like.

Is there a Cure?

Sadly, there is no cure for this, and it’s something that a lot of people struggle with.

But there are some that have started to use cannabis to help with the treatment of this condition. That’s because, there have been studies that discovered that cannabis is great for some of the side effects, including irritability, aggression, anxiety, depression, and even restlessness too.

It’s also been found from a study that has cannabis oil with it as the main focus, it was found that there were different symptoms that got relieved due to the use of this, including dementia and agitation that are there.

Cannabinoids are naturally neuroprotective, and these properties help with the reduction of the neuroinflammation and improve neurogenesis.

There is some evidence that also suggests that using products that contain both of these parts is something that’s safe for people who are older to use, especially those who have agitation due to dementia causes.

Currently, the research is still quite new, and there is a lot more that needs to be done. There’s only a few studies thus far that look at the impacts of medical cannabis, and how it can improve the quality of life in a lot of people who have this.

The beauty of marijuana and cannabis is that it’s super easy to access these days. For one, more and more places are legalizing it. But there are also different ways of taking this. It isn’t just filling a bowl or rolling a joint.

For people who have issues with holding items due to the dementia that they suffer from, having edibles, tinctures, and even oils, can help them get the effects too, in a way that’s easier than ever.

It’s been found that it’s helpful for improving the quality of life in so many older adults. If you are someone who is older that’s dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s, you might want to speak to your doctor about using this as an alternative to regular medicine, or as a supplement to help with some of the symptoms.

This is something that is still being studied quite a bit, but the research is indeed promising.

For those looking for new ways to improve their ability to handle cannabis, and for those who would like to get a lot of benefits from this, then you’re in luck. Cannabis is the way to go, and there are so many different things that it can help with.
